The Client:
My client is a high-profile commercially focused FMCG manufacturing organisation who have increased capacity, and plan to continue this growth.  They are highly successful, recession proof, invest heavily in cutting edge technology and now is the time for you to join this organisation reporting to an exceptional CFO.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and responsible for the core financial aspects of the business along with operational analysis.  You will ensure all financial accounting, management, transactional and reporting services are delivered within agreed timelines and compliant with internal polices and external reporting standards.

This is not a desk bound role for a traditional accountant, yes there is month end and reporting packs, but you will be involved in the strategic decision-making and be known within the business as the trusted finance business partner providing high level support to the wider business.

Your main responsibilities include:
  • Managing the finance team’s operational performance
  • Provide accurate and timely month end and year-end financial reporting
  • Responsible for the Treasury and Tax function
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting
  • Drive business improvement utilising business systems and internal controls
  • Provide reporting and financial advice on the company performance
  • Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders including auditors.
About You:
You will be an engaging professional individual with a strategic commercial approach to your work but also prepared to be hands on, and in the trenches with your team when required.

You must have the following skills/experience:
  • Professional accounting qualifications (CA/CPA/CIMA)
  • Significant New Zealand experience at a senior level in financial and management accounting within a commercial environment
  • Lead and managed a transactional and commercially focused finance team
  • A commercially savvy individual who can work at pace and push back when required
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, have a high level of emotional intelligence and presentation skills
  • Experience working in Manufacturing, FMCG, Retail or Distribution would be highly beneficial.
