Hi, I went in with my wife this morning (25th August, 2012) to book a couple of return journey tickets to India from Auckland. The person doing the bookings was Sudha Sharma at Guru Travels office in Royal Oak. Guru Travels was recommended by my colleague at work.

We had to wait for 10 minutes as there was a couple before us making a booking and the service they got was excellent. I was looking forward to the same. But my experience was a poor one.

I had got my wife's surname wrong and Sudha made it clear that it would be a problem. Anyhow she managed to get bookings for us on the same date and we also changed our return journey date. Sudha was yet to finalize our seating arrangements.

Abruptly, Sudha told us that the couple waiting in the room who came in after us were leaving the next day and that she wants to do their booking even without completing ours. Both my wife and I were shocked at this rudeness. Yet, I got up miffed and said I did not want to rush through with my bookings and would rather wait and get the seating right on a long 12 hour journey than messing it up. We ended up waiting in the foyer.

The other couple met Sudha and they confirmed that they were travelling next week and not the next day. Sudha again called us to resume our booking process. There was no apology or any kind of repentance for her rude behaviour. We got our tickets booked, paid on the spot and left.

It is obvious that Sudha Sharma and Guru Travels do treat all customers equally. Some are more special than others. When it comes down to customer service, it is the quality of service rendered that matters. We came out totally disgusted with the way we were treated.
