We are seeking expressions of interest from candidates with senior experience in policy development, implementation, and advisory roles, aligned with the current priorities of the New Zealand Government.
We recruit experienced public sector professionals for a range of roles (fixed term and contract as well as permanent). In the current job market, we need to know you to be able to tell you about the jobs we are working on.
These roles involve providing advice to ministers and senior leaders on sensitive and challenging issues in dynamic and fast-paced work environments. If you have experience in briefing and advising ministers, policy analysis, legislative processes, and the parliamentary system, you can make a significant contribution to central government policy teams.

- Legislative Process and Parliamentary System: Proficiency in writing legislation and understanding the Select Committee process.
- Evidence-Based Analysis: Skilled in using evidence, insights, and evaluation to support robust policy analysis.
- Analytical Frameworks: Ability to apply analytical methods to interpret evidence.
- Clear and Compelling Communication: Delivering clear, robust, and frank advice that is persuasive and actionable.
- Additional Expertise Sought in Specific Areas: Health, Education and Social sector: Sector specialist and change management.
- Regulation: Policy, legislation, implementation, monitoring and review.
- Community and Infrastructure Resilience: Planning and development. Natural Hazards: Policy development and implementation.
- Ministerial/OIA: Leading ministerial and parliamentary correspondence.
- Cabinet Paper Writing: Skilled in drafting and presenting cabinet papers.
- Policy and Programme Management: Integration of policy development with programme management.
