Heretaunga Boating Club Petone - Your Local Sailing Club. Heretaunga Boating Club is a dinghy sailing club located on the PetoneForeshore at the north end of Wellington Harbour. The club was originally founded in 1906 by a group of keen locals, and hasbeen a haven for sailing mad Wellingtonians ever since. The main classes of boat sailed at HBC are Optimist, P Class, Starling,Laser, Sunburst, and Javelin. We have a thriving Junior membership, with an excellent training programme for both junior andsenior members, run by Yachting New Zealand certified coaches
