its Interesting to read the above comment "what makes them different..." we can make sure you'd treasured animal has great care.
our 2 cats were left In Maria's care during the July holidays, (2 weeks). we went to Thailand. when we got back to pick the cats up, Jessie was not responding to us, so my son climbed into the cage to pick her up. he made the comment "mum she feels so skinny". I'm fully aware that animals sometimes do loose a bit of weight while their owners are away.
I put our other cat into the cage and my son put Jessie into the pet transport cage. once we got home I let the girls out the cage. Jessie could hardly walk she was so weak and disgustingly skinny. I immediately took her to the Vet. she was so badly dehydrated and malnourished. her weight prior to our holiday was a steady 4kgs, the vet weighed her and she was only 1.9kg! she was also very pale.
immediately the vet put her on a drip and medication and she remained in their care and on a drip for the next 6 days.
its unfortunate that Jessie started to get unwell while we were away, however Maria failed to look after Jessie properly and seek veterinary care. we paid Maria (she wanted cash) over $500 to take care of our animals, but this did not happen. had we been away another week, Jessie would have died. I feel sick to my stomach even thinking about it and my heart breaks to think what was going through my cats mind each day wondering why she was left to suffer.
fortunately Jessie pulled through and is home with us. a lot of damage was done because Maria did not seek urgent veterinary care, so we take it day by day with Jessie.
Shame on you Maria!
