Reviews of Penray Gardens

I had a lot of good experiences as a child going to "Pick Your Own" orchards. You'd try different kinds of fruit and then pick the ones you like; it was always such a great atmosphere. But it's not like that at Penray.
I brought my daughter here for PYO fruit and was sampling some of the produce. The owner who was plowing some 50m away spied me and tore up on his tractor, then proceeded to dress me down for some ten minutes. I was made to feel like a petty criminal, and was deeply embarrassed and ashamed, particularly in front of my daughter.
I realize I was in the wrong, and my assumption that orchards anticipate a certain amount of fruit consumption is clearly outdated, but to have the owner fly off the handle like that seemed way out of proportion.
For the few dollars you save, you are better off going to the supermarket.
