Review of Silver Birch Holiday Park

DISGUSTING!!! This place would would put off any tourist visiting this country and most locals! It is way overpriced with misleading advertising. Broken down childrens playground with seesaw in pieces in the long grass by the fence. Cigarette butts and bottle caps everywhere! Filthy, broken ablution block advertised as "Modern" ha! the dirty kitchen has old stoves and fridges and no pots, pans, plates or cutlery. We had to loan ours to an Italian tourist. The Whole place is generally broken down and unkempt.
Such a pity as the location by the estuary is lovely.
The manager was friendly and helpful but himself unkempt.
We didn't want to touch anything (yuk!), bought takeaways and left early next morning without showering. We paid $72 for a tentsite!
Places like this should be policed as they damage NZ's reputation as a tourist destination! Yes I am a Kiwi.
