I tried to ring to speak personally about this but keep getting the disconnected number when I tried to ring GVT. On Tues 5th Feb a Greta Valley Transport stock truck was travelling out of Temuka when I saw it in the distance. I was riding my motorbike and I braked immediately as out of the back of the truck poured effluent. This carried on all the way between Temuka and Winchester when I accelerated and passed the truck in the 50km area as the effluent wasn't leaking out at that speed.
Most of the time I would have been riding 300-400m behind the truck and watched sheets of green pour out the back left corner of the truck & even tho there was a stiff southerly blowing, the effulent was blowing across the other lane of traffic. My visor was covered with fine particles of effulent. I am married to a farmer, I understand the challenges of transporting stock but what I saw just gives rural transport firms and farmers a very bad name. I think the driver of the truck had a beard.
