Opportunity to lead development and implementation of ER strategy and plan that supports business objectives and the overall strategic HR plan. The role will focus on providing consistently high-quality employment law and industrial relations advice, with the support of a team of 5.

Located in the Auckland CBD, the role will be responsible for:

• Leadership and direction on ER strategy
• Leadership of the ER team 
• Ensure compliance with employment law and requirements
• Educate and coach the HR teams and wider leadership group on ER policies
• Manage effective union relationships
• Collective employment agreement negotiations
• Represent in mediation and at ERA or Employment Court.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in law
• Valid practicing certificate or ability to obtain one
• Experience in managing complex ER cases
• In depth knowledge of ER best practice and NZ employment legislation
• Proven experience in leading and implementation of ER strategy
• Budget management
• Proven ability to coach managers
• Extensive stakeholder management
• Ability to build a high performing team
• Team leadership

The successful candidate will bring experience in large, complex organisations, have deep knowledge of ER best practice and NZ employment legislation and will be driven to achieve outcomes.
