Job vacancy Senior Database Administrators

• 2x Senior Database Administrators – Oracle and SQL
• Auckland or Wellington
• 6 months contract – Hybrid working (2 days work from home)

We are looking for 2 x experienced Senior Database Administrators to join a dynamic and innovative team specializing in Oracle and SQL databases.

Responsibilities:

You will play a critical role in managing, optimizing, and securing our banking client’s database environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of database systems. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about database management and has a strong foundation in either Oracle or SQL or both. This is a BAU support role, so you will be monitoring and providing day-to-day technical support of the databases.

The requirements:

• Proven experience in administering Oracle or SQL databases (or both!),
• Experienced in designing, developing and managing production databases,
• Proficient in Linux/Unix or Windows,
• Expertise in performance tuning,
• Understanding of Cloud databases and offerings for Azure and AWS,
• Familiarity with DevOps pipeline tools
• Exposure to programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, SQL, R, PHP,
• Banking or financial services experience preferred,
• Agile working experience
