Thoroughly unprofessional conduct and language from staff at this organisation.
My wife called Aorangi's office after we received a collection letter addressed to my 13 year old son, a minor. The letter was looking for $130 unpaid subs plus (presumably) expenses (the amount was not itemised) for season subs for a football club. In fact, he had put his name down with the club but had played the season with another club, a fact we had relayed to the club in question several times but that's another story.
We rang Aorangi to complain about this and were treated to a profound performance. Singled out for special mention is Nadine. At the conclusion of the conversation before she had cut off the phone, Nadine dropped the "f" bomb - "oh, fuck off". We think she didn't realise the call was still connected. When my wife rang her back to complain she was called a "smartass". I called to have Nadine's telephone conduct out with her and was hung up on.
We realise debt collection is a stressful occupation for agency staff. However, we suggest that if you have need of the services of a debt collection agency, you try one of the bigger ones where staff are perhaps given more training in dealing with irate or difficult debtors. While an unpaid bill is a fractious thing, sometimes there are things behind that fact that you might be unaware of. You don't want to piss a client off by using an agency with unprofessional staff to the point where they won't return to yo
